UK Government Has Launched Consultation on Construction Products Reform White Paper

Following the Grenfell Tower incident, the UK Government’s Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is running a consultation on a Construction Products Reform White Paper, seeking views on a package of proposals.

The Construction Products Reform White Paper responds to the Construction Products Reform Green Paper from February 2025, and confirms an ambitious programme that is essential for public safety, critical to unlocking long-term investment and economic growth, reducing trade friction and boosting productivity, and to the delivery of high-quality homes, other buildings and infrastructure.

This consultation, which lasts for 12 weeks from 25 February 2026 until 20 May 2026, is open to everyone. The Government hopes to hear from a wide range of interested parties from across the public and private sectors, as well as from members of the public. Responses via the online platform are strongly encouraged, particularly from organisations with access to online facilities, such as local authorities, representative bodies and businesses, and a high-level of interest is expected across many sectors.

There are 11 consultation questions and 9 ‘About You’ questions, and responses may be given here.
